That does sound strange. I have no idea what type of negative things people said about her. I don’t Raizy hurting anyone

There is such an animal as "rage baiting," a new publicity stunt in which the host says something outrageous to generate a blizzard of negative comment, all of which brings in more views and more revenue. As they say in business, any publicity is good publicity.

I'm not saying Ms. Fried does this, but the reactions on this site prove that the stategy works.

I don't get why people get so heated up about these things. She's a person with a business. You don't like it? Move on. There are obviously people who enjoy her and what she is doing. If you're not one of it then that's fine. There are many stores out there. There are some stores that I never go into because it's not my style or it's too expensive. But I have no need to shut them down.

Anyway, I don't follow Raizy so I have nothing positive or negative to say. From the little bit I watched her she sounds like a nice person trying to make a living. She probably has fans and at the same time probably has people jealous of her. Like every public person. In either case, I don't think it's fair to start analyzing her. Whoever enjoys her can follow her without starting a thread about her once a week.

OTOH we have a מצוות לא תעשה that says לא תלך רכיל בעמך which means don't gossip. And another one forbidding הוצאת שם רע which is slander. That an individual is a public figure has no bearing on these prohibitions. The OP on the thread that was removed was simply a waste bin overflowing with malice that served no redeeming social purpose, merely hurling viciously snide, clearly jealousy-fueled trash-talk at an innocent woman, while pretending to be fired by righteous indignation.

IDK who Raizy Fried is, nor do I care, but that OP really shocked me. Never did I imagine such poison would be expressed on a frum site by a frum woman about another frum woman.

ETA; And if it was, in fact, Raizy herself who was the OP, the prohibitions against gossip and slander apply to oneself as well. Just saying, Raizy,in case you're following, though I would think you'd be too busy.

I don’t follow her and never really heard of her until I read something here a few months ago. I was curious when I heard that she interviewed Kineret because I remember Kineret from many years ago so I tried to find raizy on instagram. Disappointed that in order to watch the Kineret interview you have to pay!
Not something I’m going to do…
Interesting to watch things for free and deal with a few ads but I’m definitely not going to pay for it.

I know for a fact that She has thousands of subscribers. Her books sell like crazy. I know from the inside I work with book stores etc.

I've been following her on Instagram for a few years already and I don't get the hype one way or another. She's a nice lady who shares parts of her life in public. Who cares? Why the negativity? Why the obsession? Why the praise? Who seriously cares? Sometimes I enjoy her content and sometimes I roll my eyes. Sometimes I wonder about things but then move on. Like, why are people getting so emotionally invested for or against? That's the part that I don't understand.
