Yes. I'm up at 5.30 anyway doing lunches, packing snacks and by 6ish, I've got hot chocolate in a thermos and a fresh omelet bagel sandwich for my son to take with him. He should feel cared for and that I'm there for him, when he leaves and comes home. It's the least I can do to show him how proud I am that he gets up for davening, even when it's hard.

How on earth do you do this?

What time do you go to sleep? How old is your youngest?

Why are elementary boys getting up at 6 AM for shacharis???? What time do they start school.

I live in UK and this is foreign to me. From the age that boys daven with minyan, the schools here generally have a beis hamedrash on the premises and davening is right before school starts. School starts around 9.

My son leaves a little before seven and mornings are very hard for me always. I do not get up to see him off. My husband does try to be home from davening to say good bye to him. My son is super responsible and very capable and would just feel bad if I got up to see him off. I feel bad he has to get up so early but he's fine with it. I just refuse to add something to my plate to feel guilty about.

I use to but I do noting. He wakes himself and waits with a Neibhor. So I would sit by myself outside my house next door. I got him an expensive watch now cause I am so proud how he is handling this. He is pumped. I am up but hardly get out of bed. He Dosnt eat before davening. School gives breakfast. I really don’t mind getting up. Talk to ur kids and ask

This is child abuse. We really need to reinvent the Shachris system.

I want to clarify. Shachris starts 7:45 only. They choose to get up 6:15 to be in shul 6:45 to learn with friends bchvrusa before davening. This is completely their own choice, lots of boys in the class do that. They learn in a large busy shul so im not concerned about safety. Obviously, sometimes they choose to skip when I wake them, and tell me wake me in an hour. These are 12 year old almost bar mitzvah boys. Hope this calms you down

In Lakewood, the busses get to school by 7:40 for 7:45/7:50 shacharis.
And a bus route averages an hour

Yes, there are many kids whose bus comes at 7:15. But just as many kids whose bus comes at 6:40.
Such a kid needs to be up at 6:20 to leave at 6:35.

Are you serious please dont throw around the word abuse. For thousands of years kids got up early to work the fields.

The first year my oldest son went to shachris I told him I wanted to be up for him, but he refused. I think he felt more grownup that he was getting out on his own. The first morning I prepared a nice treat the night before and left it on the table with a note, but I respected his wishes and stayed in bed. (I was awake and listened to make sure he made it out in time.)

Since then, that's just how it is. With my second it wasn't even a question because he'd seen how his older brother's morning goes, and when he reached that milestone, he was glad and felt independent.
