Dear Parents of ———
Readmission cards have been sent to all parents whose balances are up to date.
Only students with current registration cards will be permitted to attend school. We cannot stress enough: If your child does not have a admission card, Please do not send her to school.
There will be NO BUSING available Tuesday morning to school.
Staff will be stationed at the school locations to strictly enforce this policy.
It's self understood that the reason for this is to ensure that we can pay our teachers, who are currently behind in their compensation.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Sincerely,
——— Vaad Balei Batim

Well I mean like it’s horrible that the teachers aren’t getting paid.
Are there really that many parents who are behind on school payments? That’s really sad.

Is this a letter that you actually received from your school? It’s not very clear from your post. Is this fiction?

Supposedly a big percentage of that school does not pay despite being given breaks and they don’t have a choice.

This is nothing new. In highschool we weren't allowed to take midterms if our tuition was behind. They pulled us out of class...

I always wondered how common this was. I know every year there are people in the business office right before school starts trying to work out last years balances so they can get admission cards but I thought it was a small percentage.

Is the administration also behind on their own paychecks? If not, why is the blame of not paying teacher always put on parents? Let the admins cut their own salary a bit

It would be ten times worse if the school had to close because no one is paying.

It takes alot of nerve to expect anyone to work for you for free. What a sense of entitlement.

I get that there are some individuals that really can't pay tuition. Literally, electricity being turned off, food on table etc.

But are so many parents really unable to pay?
How much is tuition in Bnos Hadasa?

The question is, is your paycheck really delayed because parents are behind on tuition or for other reasons?

Does the school open it's books? How.much do the people in administration get paid? Is the school privately owned? If so, does the owner have family members on payroll even if they have basically nothing to do with the school?

Its not nice and too tough...'"staff positioned at various locations..to enforce"
Sounds like Nazis.
I'm a parent who is up to date (but x get admission card!) and am very disturbed by this approach.
Tuition is same as most other schools with breaks for those who need.

I send to a different school and I am behind on tuition and bh bh they are ok with it. Yes I've spoken with them. They don't love it but they have money in reserve and they don't count on this month's tuition to pay this month's salaries. As long as I'm paid up by the end of the summer they don't nudge. The teachers are bh all paid on time and in full.

It sounds like they are desperate. I wonder how far behind people are? Is it from this year or have people not paid in years? It's only December.

We need to pay for daycamp in April so once that hits we fall behind on tuition. Again our school is ok with it. But we end up needing most of the summer to pay up. In our school it's for sure fairly common ...

I feel bad for the school but also bad for the parents that the school isn't in a position to give them flexibility.

I work in a different school. Parents are definitely behind in paying tuition.
It’s privately owned and the director actually does not take a big salary or pay family members.
They are late in payment due to poor financial sense and very little coming through tuition.
