Here's a post I wrote when DS was 10mo:

And to be honest, not much has changed except that he is now double that age and STILL. SO. LOUD! Louder, actually. He rarely whines, he shouts instead. He plays in a shout. He yells when someone is bothering him. And because he's so loud the whole time I get so frustrated, and so guilty because he's so small.
He's not really talking yet, but is it a speech thing if it's been going on since he was a little baby?
And this is not the regular 'little kids make noise'; he's one of 4 and his other siblings weren't/aren't like this. THEY are 'regular little kids who make noise'. HE is super loud.
Any thoughts or am I doomed to a child that will always be loud?!

Have you had his ears checked?
I don't know if it's relevant but maybe he is louder so that he can hear himself

Hmmm... Actually no, but he seems to have decent hearing. Interesting thought!

I agree with above poster. He may have fluid in his ears or a hearing problem. Also maybe check his eyes. There has to be a reason he’s so loud. Hatzlacha!

Thank you. Truth is, he isn't speaking more than a few very very basic words, so there's a second reason to check his ears...
