I’m just a curious mom and therapist with babies who are colicky, hate tummy time, and are slower to reach physical milestones (sitting, rolling, crawling, walking).

My baby had reflux, hated tummy time and hit all of her milestones early. The only milestone she didnt fully master is crawling, because she started walking at 10 months. I tried to get to her to crawl and play on her tummy even after she started walking.

I have 9 kids. My most colicky baby was my earliest walker and latest talker. He is my hardest child now though...sensory stuff, adhd, deeply feeling, regulation issues...
My most content baby was average for all milestones (talking/walking), my others were medium in terms of liking tummy time/ colic, they were late walkers, but early talkers.

My colicky baby loved tummy time. I think it helped him feel better. He met all milestones and walked at 10 months.

I don't know if it was reflux but my baby spit up a TON from age 2mos-6mos. She always liked tummy time. Worn in a carrier and slept on her tummy too since day 1. She's on the later side for milestones, only crawled at 9mos and not yet standing or walking at 15mos.

My son had terrible reflux and hated tummy time, but he slept on his stomach (from when he started rolling over)
His reflux stopped when we took him to an osteopath.
He never crawled, and started walking at 18 months. But I think that because he was born premature. He is still tiny today at 4, and has issues with walking for too long. He also can’t dress himself yet.

Just ask my closest friend. Her kids are held for the first 11 months straight! And how they start walking before 12 months doesn't match in my brain.

As babies you never put them on the floor on their tummies to play?

That's considered tummy time it's just a newer term since so many babies don't enjoy being put on their tummy by themselves it's making a point to put them down and lie with them if needed.

Basically we're not told to do it if the baby doesn't do it

My baby was colicky hated tummy time and actually hit all milestones early. I helped her with tummy time a bit and taught her to roll and the rest she got on her own

Most of my kids had reflux, only one didn’t hit milestones on time. (I don’t think she had reflux, but I don’t remember for sure.) My baby had terrible reflux, the type that even medication didn’t really help, and he loved being on his stomach, and hit all milestones early or on time.
