Please don’t check the tracking number through their link. Copy and open ups on your own in a new tab

I'm pretty sure the emails themselves are not a scam. Yes they work on the UPS website, I also tried copying the tracking numbers and searching for them myself.

The scam or mistake seems to be the packages themselves, if they actually show up.

I'm not sure if I should cancel, maybe someone really did send me an unexpected gift in 23(!) separate boxes. Who knows?

I haven't made any orders recently, especially not any large orders. I'm completely in the dark about what might be in this shipment. Especially a shipment of this size.

If the tracking numbers work then its a legit order.. the scam may be that theyll contact you explaining how they by mistake ordered to your house and please can you....

Also a chance its legit a mistaken address

Please check your credit cards. I once got a delivery I never ordered, from Sam's Club, to which I don't have a membership. Someone had used my CC. I'm not sure why they had it sent to my address, but apparently it's something fraudsters do. So make sure no one else is using your credit cards or hacking into your accounts.

Heard of a friend who got a package to a wrong name but her address. The person who’s name it was to came to pick up “their package” even showing ID. The next day they got notification for a lot of charges to their cc. A new scam is someone orders to your address sometimes under your name but usually under theirs. They’re using your cc and billing info. Once you hand them the packages it’s very difficult to fight the charges.

Either return to sender / give it back to the delivery driver to mark that it was refused. Or contact the company that’s sending it. If you get a call from someone that it’s theirs and they tracked and know you received it, deny receiving it. Be in touch with the company who shipped it directly.

I don't have any active credit cards right now, so I doubt that's it, but I'll keep an eye on my accounts.

Scam? Mistake? Gift? I should have made a poll.

Call Simon and Schuster and find out who made the order. Tell them you are concerned about fraud.

We had this. Package arrived at our home for DH. (He was at work but not expecting it). Someone called "from the delivery company, sorry we delivered it in error, someone will collect it". Turned out to be a cellphone fraudulently ordered in his name that they would then take from us!

We refused to hand it over and called the police.

Check the email address for the sender. It’s usually some gibberish address if it’s a scam

I don't remember. Somewhere down the line it started to sound aggressive and suspicious.

Could it be someone who shares your name ordered it? For months I had packages show up at my door for a different Synthy. She lived on a new street and somehow it took forever for UPS to get it in their system, and even funnier they knew I lived where I do. I didn’t have a UPS account at the time so I don’t know if I would’ve gotten notified, but it kept showing up and poor other Synthy had to come pick up all the heavy stuff she bought for her new house.
