Can't track down which of the many special ed threads had providers short on cases or being shortchanged by schools. But I wanted to share that I got a couple of emails recently from Special Edge (I thought they had closed but I guess not?) that they are looking to fill school age cases in Brooklyn at a respectable rate. I did some cases with them in the past and they were definitely in my top 3 agencies to work for.

I also heard Omni has SEIT available. I don't have personal experience there but I know at least one phenomenal person working there so I suppose it can't be bad.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for this. Anyone has contact info for Special Edge? What makes them pleasant to work for?

I'll see if I can find the emails again. I found their systems and software to work smoothly, communication was good, paperwork/supervision demands were not high, and they provided great PD (remote online). I've worked for agencies with cumbersome software and requirements and it's a real pain, so I notice when processes are smooth.

Sounds good! Also, what’s considered a respectable rate these days?

DOE directly pays $85 an hour for 1:1 SETSS; more for a group.

Don't know agency rates currently.
