Hi,

Has anyone ever tried the restaurant Malka in NYC?
does anyone know what level of kosher supervision they have?

Says National Kosher Supervision and signed by Rabbi Aaron D. Mehlman.
Would appreciate references. thanx

I've never been to that restaurant, but he is a reliable hechsher, as far as I know. I once called him up to ask him a question on the kashrus of a store under his management and he came across as knowing halacha, frum, and very straightforward.
I think most of the kosher dunkin's in Brooklyn are under him? Ave M, J, etc.
I'm not chasidish ftr.

I’ve been. I live on the UWS and know Rabbi Mehlman and everyone I know trusts hashgacja. but you’re best asking your own rabbi rather than anonymous strangers

Great reference point. I don't eat at those dunkins but now OP has a good reference point of kashrus.

not sure it’s comparable though since they don’t actually cook anything at DD.

I believes he gives a hechsher on stores open on shabbos. Many people don’t hold by that standard, and many “heimish” and yeshivish type people don’t eat there. It is not the same as OK/ OU.
But ask your rav what he says.
Rabbi Mehlman is a very big Talmud Chacham and very knowledgeable, I would 100% eat in his house. But that doesn’t speak to the standards he uses on the restaurants he certified.
