Hi I think my four year old son has ADHD, we are deciding whether or not we gain from a diagnosis.
Do you have a favorite Instagram or YouTube account to learn more about the kids and the way they think and learn and ways to maximize it?
I ordered the book the Explosive child because so far that’s been our biggest struggle, the emotional disregulation and impulsivity.
I don’t really learn well through reading so looking for true and tried other methods.

How to ADHD on youtube is great! she also has a book (geared for adhd readers...) that really helped me

ADHD I think of as a general diagnosis, there are varying types and varying reasons for it. Unfortunately people are so focused on behaviors that they don't spend enough time getting the proper evaluations of what is behind the behaviours. For that you would gen an exam by a behavioral optomotrist, in NY I recommend Dr. Warshovsky of ODA who taught at Suny College Vission Center 34 yrs, vision therapy, prisms, progressives, u want to rule out far sightedness, tracking, conjunction insufficiency, etc....what the opthamologists don't do.....AND you want a very good OT examination, you want a quality auditory test, I recommend Dr. Donna Geffner in Long Island NY, a speech pathologist AND audiologist who is integrative. You want to know if there are any information processing issues that impact social,behavioral, learning concerns so eyes and ears are a good one, not just checking out the brain, also check w/ skin scratch test for allergies....a start....starting young is the BEST!
