I'm redoing my dining/living room floors. What are the pros and cons of both parquet and marble floors. Thanks

Do you ever drop things like dishes? Do you ever have people who fall? Then go for wood. Marble is stone, and as the saying goes, if the glass hits the stone or the stone hits the glass, it won't be good for the glass. (And it won't be good for the stone, either. Drop something heavy on marble and the marble can crack or chip, too. ) Plus marble is very cold in winter.

I am a bit of a klutz actually. I’ll have to consider this point.

Do you live in a hot climate? I do, and there are only a couple of cool months in the year and sometimes not even that, so I've gone for porcelain tiles. I get a lot of direct sunlight into my living areas and worried it would damage a wood floor. I also can't be bothered to babysit and maintain my floors to avoid scratches etc from my kids playing and scraping furniture etc so that was a factor too. However, yes, a fall on tile or stone will be harder on dishes (or bones) than a fall on wood will be - I do worry about kids falling down stairs etc.
