It’s not okay to not accept returning campers.
The excuse there is not enough room is not valid bec there should always be room for returning campers first.

Unless a camper was trouble there is no excuse for camps to play these games.

I don't think this camp cares. This is a girl with stellar middos, no issues. They said there's no room. I don't understand how that can happen ? Suddenly there's no room for returning campers?

There is one bais yaakov camp that is known to do that.

Known for not accepting returning campers for no reason ? That's not very nice.

I know of one mainstream BY camp that did this to a lot of girls this year.
No idea what's going on, but they're being very nasty and uncaring.

Why did they reject so many girls then ? Who did they give their returning campers spots to ?

Is this camp tubby?

If yes, she should try BRC.

I have no idea. BH I don't send to this camp. I have friends who are at their wits end trying to work out what to do with their girls this summer. They didn't apply elsewhere because they assumed they would have a spot as a returning camper and now chances of getting in anywhere are very slim.

Is it that she only got in for second half? They usually don’t not take returning campers at all. I know first half filled up fast and they pushed some to second half like me and I pushed my way back into first half. But unless a kid misbehaved or they said there is only room second half they don’t just not take back returning campers.

Even with returning campers , I know that the applications are first come first serve basis. I spoke to the office regarding a payment issue and even though it was a few days before the returning camper deadline, they told me to get the application in right now because there are almost no more slots left. Ppl that applied after me did not get in. I’m not sure why they have less slots than they did last year, but that’s what seems to be the case

What does that even mean? if they X amount of beds last year for their campers who is sleeping in those beds?? As long as you apply within the priority application time there's no reason you shouldn.t be accepted and for the half you previously went to. It makes no sense.

Still makes no sense.
If she went first half last year then there is room for her first half this year.

You aren’t counting siblings who are new campers but submitted first or for some reason got the spot before the returning camper.

Returning campers should come first.

What about girls coming out of grade 9 not being accepted?? Are there so many siblings of younger campers that now want to join coming out of grade 9?? Sorry, makes no sense.

Not Tubby
Great girl. Loved by all. Talented and good middos.
9th grade.
I think that there are too many applicants. Also many applicants apply and then change plans. We are after all only in November. Camps should not open registration until around purim time.
