I’m trying to get a feeling for what’s out there.
If you work in the NY/NJ area, what kind of job do you have (entry level/supervisor/director/college degree based/business owner/etc) and how much do you make?

I work for a Jewish business so the title is a bit tricky. I do entry level work (meaning no college degree necessary and anyone could be trained into this position) I also supervise 2 other people doing the same work. I work 20 hours a week and get paid 1k.

Business owner, take home pay is around 200-250k per year. Some years it's more and some years less. This past year was significantly less than previous years due to the economy

When it comes to these polls I feel that you're more likely to get replies from those that have a good income, and/or a career their they proud of. I don't think it reflects the average.

Limudei Kodesh teacher.
23k a year.
No benefits.
About 16-17 hours of actual teaching, but need to be there extra time before / after, so really at least 20.

Plus a few hours a week of preparing, grading, communicating with parents and writing a detailed weekly update. Plus 3 times a year hours of grading report cards, and meeting with parents twice a year for conferences.

Why do I do it? I dunno. Prob bec I'm a little crazy Wink

How many years experience? If a few years experience already you are underpaid.

I'm a senior accountant in public accounting in Lakewood, 30 hrs wk, no cpa yet but many years experience. Started at 100k in my current job (with a lot of experience already) and got raised.
