My oldest is 18 months old and was sleeping in my bed till now.
Should I buy a crib? Or a very low bed which is safe?

My vote for toddler bed. He'll come out, but he'll learn soon enough. He'll be climbing out of the crib soon, and that's not safe.

Depends on your kids nature. My son was fine in a crib till three and didn't really care to switch. He has a very calm personality.
But for a kid who likes to climb I would go straight to toddler bed

Get a convertible crib/ toddler bed. Use it as toddler bed for him. If you'll need crib for your other children, you'll have it already.

I think just a toddler bed is a waste.

Agree with this.
Get a crib that the side comes off. Decide which stage is best for him now.
When he is a bit older or you need the crib for your next child IYH get real beds.

My kids were only in full cribs until toilet trained 2.5 yrs as they stop diapers at night within the week and then they need the access to toilet easily on their own.
We just took the side off and they could go on their own.
With my last we already had the bed and I wanted the space of the crib so she went straight to a bed at 2.5 yrs.

I would get a very low twin bed so that you’ll be comfortable when you have to lie down with him to get him used to it

It won’t be an easy transition for him, but you can do this! And then you won’t need to upgrade in a few years.

Honestly, we still lie down with our preschoolers in their beds to read and say shema even though they never slept in my bed. It’s a nice routine.

I wouldn’t do this because he’ll never learn to stay in bed by himself at this age. If you want him out your bed the best would be a crib that you gently train him to fall asleep without lying next to you. You can sit to read and snuggle and then pat his back. After a bit he’ll be ready to sleep as soon as you put him in the crib. Otherwise you’re just changing locations where you sleep in one bed.
