My 11-year-old has adhd. This morning, she didn't take her meds. Hasn't happened in forever. She's home all of 10 minutes, and omg! I have a HEADACHE.
She's dancing and twirling. (All 120 lbs of her. She's not overweight. She's tallll). Giggling maniacally.
Walking over to everyone asking them to come dance with her. It's too hilarious if I wasn't so overwhelmed by the noise and wild movement.
Ok vent over. Now I'll go find the Tylenol and go serve supper and pray the table doesn't get flipped in the process.
From maniacal laughter to rage full yelling and crying isn't such a far jump around here on days like these.

Dd is 12, never medicated, and the maniacal laughter drives me nuts. Thankfully it’s not an everyday occurrence. It was cute when she was four. Kinda. Not to mention when she teams up with ds7.

For my kid this type of behavior was caused by yeast overgrowth in their gut

My daughter is almost 18 and her meds work well. ADHD does not run her life. But the maniacal laughter even at 3:00 am.... it's actually one of my favorite quirks of hers.
