For Mordechai you could do Voldemort. See the connection?
If you don’t like ch sounds, Mordecai is a perfectly acceptable, beautiful name. Morley is easier to pronounce. Michael only has the M but it’s easiest. Mortimer sounds old fashioned but it’s closest to Mordechai.

I’m a HP fan but I don’t see the connection, other than the “mor”.

OP, why not just Mordecai? It’s a recognizable Anglicized biblical name, like Moses or Abraham.

My brother uses Michael.
He was named after a great grandfather called Max but Hebrew name was mordechai
