Shaindy Poltzker is making a concert in my city and my dds are begging to go! “All their friends are going”, which they probably are. The tickets that are decent are priced at $75 a ticket, that’s 225 for me to take them. I personally have no interest in going. Wwyd??

It’s a business. It has to cover the venue, the band, her ticket, the make up, hair, dresses, lighting, sound.. and she wants to make money too since it’s her business and what she lives off. And it’s sold out every time.

You always have the option to say no to a luxury. $225 for a concert is not a necessity. I would make my kids pay with their money if they want it badly enough.

Your daughters should pay 50%. If they don't want to then why should you pay?
Concert ticket is 100% treat/luxury.

I just booked decent tickets for 99 shekel. Thats around $28.
If you cannot do the more expensive ones go cheaper, along with 65 percent of the audience.
No need for drama.

There are tickets for $36, you gotta click around the map to find them.

You don't need decent tickets, cheapest ones are perfectly fine.
I would tell my DDs if they don't like it we can just stay home.

Concerts are a luxury. Most people just listen for free at home .

Saying no is an option at any age. They can earn money for concerts if they want to go and it's not in the budget or you think it's not something you want to spend on.

OP I never paid for my kids to go to concerts ever, if they wanted to go they paid with their babysitting money. This is an issue with kids they expect everything the only way it stops is when we the parents tell them no. They will be upset the first time, the second time but by the third time they get it.
We are not meant to be bankers that just hand out money.
Can you suggest to them a different fun activity to do instead the night of the concert? Play a family game, make home made pizza, do a chessed activity, bake together, cook together?
Or maybe they can get a job working for the concert so they can go for free? So maybe they can sell tickets at the door or help people find seats or something like that?
I used to go to concerts and they are nice and fun but I haven't gone in years due to the price.

I don't have girls this age, only boys (and younger girls), but I definitely say no to paying for things like this, even if "everyone" is going. They are welcome to go. If it means that much to them, they can pay for it. Or, if it's something I think is great for them but it's just not in our budget, then I'll pay as much as I think is reasonable and they can pay the difference.
That goes for clothes (I'll pay as much as I normally would for a pair of sneakers, you can pay the extra if you think it's worth it), entertainment (I get that all of your friends are going, and their parents are all paying, here's how much we're willing to pay for a day activity), etc.

Im now remembering that my sister went to a concert and I didnt as she wanted to spend her money on it and I didnt feel it was worth it.
No hard feelings to my parents at all, I was prob 11-12ish and she was 13-14.
