Thinking of next year. What type of boys go to camp romimu? From what yeshivas? And how is the camp compared to agudah and maaminim?

They have many, many boys from Lakewood. There are also boys fron Darchei, Torah Vodaas, YSV, Baltimore. It used to be slightly to the left of Agudah. But now it is probably more to the right of Agudah. They are very selective in who they accept. I don't know much about Maaminim.

My son goes to Romimu. It is really a great camp in every way. The learning is top notch, they have a lot of incentives and he came back with lots of prizes.

The facility it by far the best and their price is the same as all the other boys camps. Their program is very, very exciting and they also have amazing trips.

They actually have the counselors call each family to introduce themselves before camp starts and have a handle on how the boys are doing.

Their medical staff is tops - they have a Nurse Practiotioner and a nurse.

Tons of boys from Brooklyn and 5 towns. I haven't noticed many lakewood boys there but it could be the bunks my children are in. All counselors we have had are also from Brooklyn and 5 towns.
It's a fantastic camp!

I think it’s a more “sophisticated” crowd than Maaminim. Lots of tiferes yisroel and Darchei boys. From my son’s Darchei class the more cool sporty macho kids went to romimu and the lower key ones went maaminim. Maaminim is not a nerdy camp just maybe a drop less “tough” crowd. Both great camps Rom is known for beautiful grounds and being run exceptionally. Maaminim is smaller and more relaxed and grounds aren’t as nice. But the boys who go come home raving about it. My son had a mix of far rockaway/five towns and Lakewood boys in his bunk in Maaminim

Boys coming out of 8th grade are in the elyon program. Great division head. Separate dining room and programming from younger divsions. More trips. Option for elyon masmidim learning program with excellent rebbe.

They vet boys extensively and are very makpid on nivel peh, etc. I found that the boys in Romimu have excellent middos. That is a focus of the camp.

They have an unbelievable learning program: Shabbos afternoon, night seders, prizes galore.

Elyon has a great division head - Rabbi Zilber from Toronto. He does a lot of special activities with the boys iike tournaments and trips.

My son went from age 11 until staff member and loved every minute it’s really one of the best boys camps around. I think it attracts a more in town crowd if that bothers you ..

I have a bunch of kids in Torah vodas and never heard of any boys there going to romimu. It’s not really Torah Vodaas type crowd (maybe there’s some exceptions but it’s definitely not the overall type)— they tend to go to maaminim or agudah overall. Maaminim is a bit more “yeshivish” less fancy type
