I just found out that I am having the same gender as my previous kids and I’m disappointed, especially since this is 99.9% our last. It was also a bit of a journey for me to get pregnant struggling with SIF so I am beyond grateful that I’m at this point and feel super guilty and frustrated with the gender disappointment. I know it’s a real thing and I’m not the only one to have/had these feelings, but I’m crying most days because I really wanted the other gender. How do people get over this? I’m sure once I meet my baby I will love unconditionally but a part of me will always mourn the lack of the other gender.

Hugs. I’m in the same boat. I remember crying so much when I found out last time and then instantly falling in love when my baby was born. This time I know that’ll be the case again iyh and because of several unhealthy pregnancies, my gratefulness for a healthy pregnancy bh is overpowering my sadness about the gender. I, too, will always be sad that I don’t have both genders but I have come to accept that this is what Hashem obviously wants for me.

My gender disappointment baby is 6, and I still find myself being bothered by the disappointment sometimes. I love that kid to bits, but I still dream about what could’ve been. It’s OK. You can be grateful and disappointed at the same time.
I bet you that new kid will be extra delicious like mine is!
