When you air dry clothes indoors, how long does it take? It can take up to 3 days for some of my laundry to dry. Growing up it took 1-2 days. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. Most of the clothes are polo shirts and basic pants or skirts, nothing wool or corduroy. I often end up putting something in the dryer because I can't wait. I do laundry once a week on average.

Is the setting on the wash machine for the spin set to medium or low? Do you have any air circulation where you hang up your clothes? Though the more I think about it, I think it's your spin cycle.

Lots of factors involved
Machine speed
Closeness of clothes hung
Airflow of room
Humidity
If clothes are more spread out, there is more airflow. If there is a window in the room and it's breezy outside, it will definitely help to open the window.
When you wash your clothes on a delicate cycle, the spin speed is usually set to lower. Its gentler on the clothes, but will leave them more wet.

I find that humidity is a big factor. On rainy days my clothes can take 3 days to dry. Also make sure to spread them out properly.

I have a dehumidifier which I put on when it's very wet outside/there is no airflow which helps dry the laundry much quicker. It's much much cheaper to run than a drier, and doesnt ruin clothes. When it's running, my clothes dry in under a day, vs 3 days when it's cold and rainy.

Call me crazy but I dry polos and pants. It’s softer and easier

And two more factors: thickness of the fabric and fiber content. Synthetics are not absorbent and dry faster, and thin or loosely-woven fabric dries faster than thick or closely-woven fabric. Heavy cotton towels take forever, filmy silk or polyester blouses take hardly any time at all.
