Had a bad cold with fever and on antibiotics from yesterday because doc says it turned into pneumonia.
No fever from yesterday afternoon.

How old? Old enough not to cough and sneeze on people?

Did you ask the doctor how long they’ll be contagious for?

My kids schools rule is 24 hours fever free without medications that can lower a fever. Unless they’re like super super snotty or coughing tons or throwing up or diharea… you get the idea.

Covers when coughs and not snotty at all. It’s all just in chest.
No fever reducers

I couldn’t get through to Dr today to ask how long contagious

I would go based on how the child is feeling. I wouldn't be too concerned about being contagious at this point.

My question is twofold o guess-
1-on contagion period. Which I’m unclear if same 24 hr fever free applies here
2- dc was pretty active today, but does it make sense to return to school where they’ll have to be “on” all day. My understanding is that pneumonia can make you pretty exhausted.

I would keep dc home longer, but they’re desperate to return. Dc’s been out for like 10 days at this point and missing so much schoolwork. But on the other hand I don’t want a setback.

Can they go tomorrow and if they don't feel up to it during the day you can bring them home?

I would do that if school were closer. But doesn’t make sense to go and then if they need to be picked up, will take me very long to get back to pick up dc.
