I don’t have kids yet but I so want to shop for kids
We already have a box full of baby clothes that we bought over the years, but the excitement for that wore out already
I want to shop for a real live child

That’s really painful. Hug
I hope in a year from now you’ll be filling up your case with beautiful things for your beautiful child.

Of course ideally I would love to shop for my own child but at this point I just so want to shop for a child even if it’s not mine! I want to ‘adopt shopping’ for a child

There are so many posters on here saying they can’t afford clothes for their children. Maybe pair up with someone like that.

We can’t either cover it financially, life is expensive even when there is no kids. It’s quite often even more expensive.. unlike what the world thinks.

I need the shopping for the emotional part

Yea it just annoys me terribly when people think that because we don’t have kids we must be filthy rich

It’s true filling an emotional need costs money, but I think shopping for a random kid that I never met and never will meet won’t fill that need.. it’s definitely a great tzedakah though

👌
I feel like I need the shopping not for the spending but rather to provide for a child

Yes but not typically more than the added expenses of being a parent. Also most people don’t do treatments for 18+ years (I hope!)
