World events have me wondering, what can I do to become a better person?
I always leaned toward a Kabbalah in tniut since I learned אין חובה לפני המקום מין הצניעות which loosely translates that tniut is the “soft spot” of hashem. But dh is not in support. He believes that davening and tehilim are better. Thinking favorably on other l, being Dan lkaf zechut, and going out of our ways to do favors beyond what we want to or would do are preferable to tzniut.
I wonder what others think?
What would be some idea of something I can do and not just for a bit but for a while and hopefully forever?

It can be both.

If it's something you want to be m'kabel long-term, ensure it's manageable and relatively simple. A kabalah that's too grand maybe too hard to commit to long-term.

I think you can take on something in tznius that is private, not related to clothing. For example, not speaking to men as casually (if you do), maybe not speaking so loud in public, not speaking about yourself to get attention....that type of tznius. This would not affect your husband, and he may never notice it.

As an aside, when the gemara talks about tznius, it talk about not revealing that which was hidden. The examples given were Rachel (that she didn't tell Yaakov that her sister was under the veil), Shaul, (that he didn't reveal to his uncle that he was chosen by Shmuel to be king), and Esther, (that she didn’t reveal her identity to Achashveirosh. )
None of these have anything to do with clothes, but they are described as tznius.
