Is it normal that my 25 and 19 year olds from 8 am ask what’s for dinner every single day. And honestly they know full well especially Thursday nights I don’t really make supper. Am I the only one whose kids ask

25 and 19 year old? You’re nice that you’re still making them dinner.

No, it's not normal. And they should be helping you in the kitchen at that age.

My oldest is 16, so I'm not there yet. What part is bothering you? Are they annoying you by asking repeatedly? Do they want to know what's for supper so they can decide if they want to eat it or get something else? You can try posting a weekly menu on the fridge or in a family WhatsApp group, depending on what works best for your family.

It's normal. But you can decide if it's a 'normal' you're ok with.
You can change the script.

Sounds to me like they're trying to determine if they should make arrangements for their own supper/go out to eat

So interesting to hear this perspective, at what age are kids expected to help in the kitchen?
(also can't fathom it's normal for a 25 year old to kvech about dinner at 8am.)
Eta
Some of my friends don't let their kids anywhere near the kitchen. But that changes as they get much older.

Everyone's different, but at age 19 and 22 they are definitely old enough!

How are they asking? Kvetching, demanding, or just curious?

yes, it’s normal.
for them, it is like asking what’s the weather.
If you want them to help out, you need to ask. verbally.
They are not going to get it on their own.

Try telling them (neutral tone, sincere) that they can make supper.

That would really annoy me
A different situation but today I for once didn’t have a plan for the day and didn’t rush anyone to do anything and people kept asking what are we doing etc
So I snapped I don’t want to make all the decisions for once!
They said okay but also didn’t initiate anything…

That would bother me. Like 8 AM? That’s so early, maybe if they ask around 4 pm
Also they are adults. I was making myself dinner when my mom was too tired at 13 yrs old.
