Anyone else not have insurance since being kicked off and applied for a fair hearing. I'm looking for a support group of families that are also going through this ordeal since I am told by LRRC that there are a number of people in my situation.
There is no one to talk to at the state level.
The fair hearing office does not answer the calls.
I can't afford United Refuah.
Kids haven't seen doctors in over half a year.
I'm at my wits end.

On what basis were you kicked off?
Didn't they provide you with a letter indicating the reason?

Lrrc can pull strings. They have contacted senators for me in the past. Wishing you luck.

Do you make too much for your kids to be on Jerseycare? Did you try getting on a marketplace plan?
We were all kicked off jersey care. I got me and DH on marketplace plan.
My kids are supposed to be eligible based on our income. They were kicked off due to miscalculation. I requested a fair hearing and got a court date for in a month from now. We are all temporarily back on jersey care because we had filed for the fair hearing.

My husband and I have getcovered. That's fine. My children are supposed to be eligible however when I renewed in December of 2023 (yes 7 months ago) they figured income based off 2023 income chart not 2024 (this was a mistake on their end since ultimately renewal was in 2024) and was told (by LLRC who reviewed the file ) that I am eligible. I requested a fair hearing and never heard back. I follow up every day.
One day - yes this is a simple mistake and a case worker will fix
Next day - no you need a fair hearing
Next day - you can only leave one message on the fair hearing machine per week
Next day - call the 800 number - you can't call us you need to call fair hearing
Next day - no one is working on your file since 7/4 - we missed a note
Next day - there is no eta - wait for fair hearing
Next day - fair hearing number doesn't work
This is going on since May when I got my termination.
I want to cry, scream and run away. There is absolutely no one to talk to. I spoke to LRRC and I told them this is an emergency since I will go crazy (like literally) if this is not resolved. They told me they can't intervene unless it's an emergency and that is not called an emergency.
I can't live a normal life because I am so worried about something happening to my large family and having an emergency situation. I'm on the verge of pulling my kids from their overnight camps since those are out of state. I'm borderline depressed from all the back and forth and powerlessness. I'm wondering if anyone else is in my situation.

Yiked that sounds horrible.
Did you also try reapplying to Jersey care? LRRC had told I can reapply in addition to filing the fair hearing.
Also, if you're kids are income eligible for jerseycare, they can get emergency Medicaid if they are seen st chemed, and I think hospitals.
And chemed also has a sliding scale

Jerseycare absolutely sucks! It took them 7 months to process my new application. Didn’t have my kid covered in the interim but LRRC told me that I could go to chemed and have a temporary sort of Jersey care used there if need be. Didn’t end up needing to go BH so don’t know how that works exactly. But if you reapply, maybe you can do that too while they’re processing your application? Worth asking LRRC.

The people who process the intake are totally inept. They denied/ cancelled my applications twice incorrectly.
Send an email to njfc@ocbss.ocean.nj.us. You will get a response with a name and number. Keep communicating with that person. Reference your application number.
Also there is a person at the county who takes care of fair hearings.( Did you get a letter that you have one? )They can put in the correct code to reinstate the family care until the hearing.

Reach out to state senator that's what we did when I applied due to pregnancy and didn't get anywhere with anyone on the phone for 7 mnths and then I was almost due and was frikeing out that nothing was happening. We reached out to state senators office they told us to email them the details and a day later someone called from jersey care to follow up and request documentation and then from there it took only 2 weeks to wrap it up and Bah I had it in time for birth. For reference I live in Jackson NJ the state senator we called was Alex sazuckie his number is 6097580205

I just reread your post. If you were terminated and did not get a fair hearing why not reapply as you are currently eligible? Also think you should involve a congressman or representative….

can you take one of your children to chemed and put in an application there with financial assistance? I heard it is a faster process to get approved for jersey care.

I have lots of experience with Jersey care. firstly you must reapply. secondly most definitely reach out to a local congressman or senator. it should work like a charm. I've done it twice before.

Busy with this still all day for past eight months. FYI putting in new application did not help. They told me today they will not look at new application since I opened a fair hearing.
I know people have worse problems but this is truly pushing me over the ledge. I find myself completely overwhelmed, depressed and helpless from not figuring this out.
I was reinstated after requesting many times however reinstatement starts in September and is pending fair hearing.

Reinstatement should be as of the receipt of your fair hearing request. It should be stamped on your letter when they received it. It is valid until the hearing decision. You can call your insurance co to see if it is active. I only got the reinstatement after speaking to the fair hearing unit at the county. The State number did not do anything.

Is this for part d. They (the state) are telling me there is no backdating reinstatement for part d.
Can someone tell me what the fair hearing involves?
