My son went with a close friend as part of a group of boys to Thailand.
They were in Bankgok first and after Shabb they flew to Chiang Mai.
I haven't heard from him since he left Bankgok.
He's with another older single boy.
Both are very responsible and wouldn't do something scary but I am anxious as he hasn't responded in almost 24 hours which is unusual for him.
I tried texting calling the other boy too but it goes straight to voice mail.
I don't want to call his parents because I don't want to alarm them if there's nothing wrong.
I don't know the entire group and to Chiang Mai they didn't travel together so no point in contacting anyone in that group.
Does anyone know if there's possibly no service in Chiang Mai?
From what I read online it's a very developed tourist city and connection or wifi shouldn't be a problem.
Not sure what to think but I'm anxiety ridden.

Maybe. But are you saying no one is calling in and out of Chiang Mai for the last several days?

Thanks I looked them up. It says they open in about an hour.

They might know if cell phone service is down, keep their eyes and ears out.

Yes I know I should let go and all that.
He's the apple of my eye and yes I have many more kids and they all are the apple of my eye.
I am not as adventurous as my kids are so that's the gap.

I’m not an anxious person and this would have made me very anxious. I got anxiety just reading about it. I know someone asked you already but how old is your son? My kids travel alone in late teens/ early twenties but not to places like that.

27. He's not young but he would never go somewhere without my ok just because he is responsible and I am a good researcher so he wants me to tell him if the place is safe.
I researched Thailand and it seems like a very safe place actually.
He told me the itinerary but because I trust him I listened with a half an ear.
He told me someone is taking them around and I didn't ask him who that is because again, I trust him.
Anyways thanks so much for validating me.
I kept reprimanding myself that I'm too anxious and that the other boys mother probably doesn't even know a thing and why can't I be like her.
So good to have all of you validate...
