Question to all of you who don't Vax in NY. What do you do with schools/ camps / pediatrician?

Asking because I've seriously contemplated not vaccinating my baby, but when I think of the hardships of getting into schools (Monsey) being unvaccinated definitely won't help.

That is so sad that you start giving vaccines just for school. BH my kids go to a school where they accept religious exemptions-no questions asked. My kids are all unvaccinated and healthy BH.

If you're only vaccinating for school, you can vax older and only need fewer ones. It's not ideal but 100x better than just follow the CDC schedule.

They BH don't have to deal with these dangerous diseases precisely because everyone else is vaccinated.

Without that herd immunity, there is high likelihood that these diseases would resurge and become a painful reality for us.

It's funny though. Anti-vaxx try to push their agenda wherever they can. What they don't realize is that if they persuade enough people, herd immunity will be lost, and they'll have to deal with those awful consequences. If they really want to do it their way, they would keep quiet. But their science is so flawed, they don't even realize that it's herd immunity keeping their flawed theories afloat. Essentially they're shooting themselves in the foot by promoting their agenda.

Where is this school located? I live in monsey area too and feel uncomfortable vaccinating my 2 youngest children and don’t know what to do either.

You know why I share what I learned? Because I hate seeing your children suffer. When I walk through the neighborhood and see children suffering from vaccine-induced illnesses, it does bother me. I believe the risks of vaccinating outweigh the risks of not vaccinating. Herd immunity included.

You might be able to get away with it if you keep quiet and nobody knows you don't vaccinate. Your older children are presumably accepted into schools already so you can just kind of play along.

If you can tell vaccines induced illnesses simply by walking the streets, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Or rather, the word vaccine wouldn't even be in our dictionary.

The mind is a powerful thing. When hyperfocus comes into play, our brains suddenly see it everywhere. Add emotions to it, and we have a movement born.

That is not saying that vaccines are perfect without repercussions. But the amount of misinformation that is spread, and thereby causing the baby to be thrown out with the bathwater, is very troubling.

As with everything, there is a happy medium. I.e. the polio and mmr vaccines are not in the same category as the covid or flu vaccine. The meningitis shot is not the same as the chicken pox shot. There is a strong need to learn the differences so that we indeed keep our children and grandchildren healthy.

Right, because being deceitful is what our Torah advises us to do. Possibly jeopardizing the health of an immuno-compromised student is also how a Yid is supposed to behave.

At the very least, be forthcoming. This way if ch"v a student is undergoing treatment or has a chronic condition, they know to stay out of a class in which someone is creating a substantially higher risk for them.

If only you were truly educated to know that almost all vaccines don’t provide the herd immunity you think they do!
And most ppl I know who choose not to vaccinate don’t have any agenda to push; in fact, they don’t discuss it with others…

Hmmmm… the kids who get freshly vaccinated should also inform the compromised- because they’re carrying around a live virus and can often spread it. Fun fact: patient zero is typically the vaccinated. Do your homework!
