What's the mature and responsible amount of time to take off for a sibling's wedding?
Wedding is where I live, we're chassidish and Rebbish so I'm counting on a late mitzvah tantz. I work for a frum understanding boss so it's not like he'll be chewing gmy head off, but I'm not looking to take advantage.
Is half the day of and majority of the day after reasonable?

Do you have kids who are getting hair done too?
for myself id need later half of day for makeup and getting dressed and going to hall
The next day you’ll probably be zonked you’ll likely come home to sunrise no?

I think the day of and the day after the wedding is very reasonable

I think it's a responsible amount. Even to ask to have the whole next day off and only be on demand if necessary. My kids only went to school after 12 the day after aunts wedding. By that time my playgroup kid was almost coming home at 2.30

No kids. And not to sunrise, more like alos.
So I'm thinking of taking off later half of the wedding day and I was hoping to take off all of the day after but it's payroll day.....
I'm thinking of just going in the last half hour of the day to print the employees checks.

I’d take off the entire day of the wedding and half day after. Unless you take off all the time or just started the job, that’s perfectly reasonable.

My boss did not allow me to take any time off for my siblings wedding.
Chassidish and the wedding ended at 4am. Until we got to bed was 5. I was told I had to be at my desk at 9am or I would lose my job.
I also had to be at work until 5 the day of the wedding. I ran like a maniac to get my makeup done and got to the hall at 6:30 which was much later than was expected of me.
Good riddance to that job.
I think a half a day before and a half a day after is perfectly reasonable.
