Is there anyone who can help me with looking for and applying and hopefully obtaining a federal government position. It would need to be entry level as I haven't worked much in past years, was stay at home mom, assistant teacher and tutor part time throughout. Thanks so much

You can find all federal jobs on usajobs.gov. I know the irs has tons of openings right now. There are also hiring events that you can attend in person that you can find through usajobs or directly on the different agency websites.

I work for the federal government.

The process is long. First scout usajobs.gov and filter the type of work you can do and areas you are willing to commute. Many of the jobs require a degree or experience.

The application is usually only open a few days or until x amount of people apply. The application is a long application, plus you need to upload your resume. Make sure to mention the keywords mentioned in the job post. It is vital.

Then you wait. You may hear back in just a couple weeks or it may be a couple months. If your application passes a computerized app review, than an actual person will review the application. If all looks good and you "pass" their point system of requirements, you will called for an interview. And then it's like any other job application....you need to make an impression on the interview, etc. And then you wait again to see if you got the job.

Once in a while they have direct hire slots, but those a few and far between.
