Hi dear ladies,
Sometimes I see "Shlita" next to a Rav's name, and sometimes not.
Does it mean something in particular?
What does a Rav have to do in order to be a "Shlita"? Is there some kind of "Shlita" exam?
With thanks from your local Baalas tshuva:)

Shlita- may he be blessed with long life

(reserved for an esteemed rabbi- there are different acronyms for everyday people)

Zatzal- may his memory be a blessing

Shlita is not something that's earned, it's usually tacked onto a choshov person's name.

it’s not something that’s earned, it’s just a way of giving kavod to a gadol. My husbands kollel checks are written out to Harav Synthowitz Shlita. Makes me laugh every time.
