We are a family of 6 from South Africa, looking to return to Israel after being in Chul for nearly 5 years. We used to live in Yerushalayim but want a more affordable place to live.
Our daughter is 10, and ours boys are 8, 5 and 15 months.
My husband is Israeli (lived most of his life in South Africa) and I lived in Israel as a child so we both speak Hebrew about 85% fluently, so we would be comfortable in a mixed Israeli/Anglo community. Both of us have our parents in Israel BH.
We are JPF Chareidi BTs. Since we have been working in Klei Kodesh in the Kiruv world, our children have been exposed to all sorts of people and unfortunately have not received the level of Kodesh chinuch we are wanting for them - our main goal is to get them in the Chareidi school system without traumatising them too much... however they are mostly strong Hashkafically BH and we really want a good heimish Chareidi environment for them. Our main concern is our eldest son who has sensory and emotional issues, as well as some social anxiety, so we need a school that has a lot of support and care.
We are looking into Rechovot and RBS Gimmel as we need an environment that has some English speakers just to make the landing a bit softer for the oldest 2 children, but we want them in intergrate into Israeli society well.
Would love to hear from Imas here or via DM who live in Rechovot, RBS Gimmel, or any other areas you think may be suitable.

Hi, I don't live in either of those places (I am still in chutz laaretz dreaming about Aliya) but one note regarding schools-
In RBS, look into the schools featured in a video by The Nachliel project - you should be able to find it on YouTube.

re: Rechovot
Have you spoken to Rav Ashenberg from Chatam? Or any of the other ladies there? We spoke to him recently when we were considering Rechovot and he gave us very specific guidance related to our kids and the schools there. (short answer: he told us that Rechovot couldn't meet our needs and we should go to RBS).
But the Chatam kehillah is amazing and we would have loved to move there if the chinuch would have been the right fit.

Its very friendly here. Nice parks. My kids have friends. Rent isn't expensive (moved from jlem where it's a fortune). Really nice community vibes.

The real "heimish" chareidi boys school do not offer the support you are looking for.
I send my son to Darchei Noam. They consider themselves chareidi but I know the more chareidi schools look down on them. I don't care because they offer all the services my son needs and the hanhalah works with you. My son is a different child, BH!
They are more expensive then the other schools but for my son's success, it is money well spent.
Most of the boys are from aleph but there are a few boys in each class from gimmel.

My son gets a lot of extra tutoring during school hours. He has really caught up and I am hoping by next year he will have less. It also gives him a break from the classroom plus he gets the extra attention he needs. They will also recommend if your child needs counseling or therapy outside of school.
In general, I have found Rabbi Adelman to be very understanding and easy to reach over the phone or to schedule a meeting. Also, the rebbeim are extremely warm. Every Rebbe has really worked with us to get my son to keep on improving.

Looking to make Aliyah next year with kids ranging ages 12-4.
We are coming in August to look at different communities and RBS Gimmel is one of the places we are most interested in. Anyone know of any English speaking day camps that would let me sign up for about a week or so for my kids to get an idea of the crowd?
Any other resources/recommendations/advice would be so appreciated!!
