I see an old thread that says to stop eating hot 24 hours before zeman of eating chometz. But online I read something about rubbers containing starch. Anyone know about this? Are they referring to what's around each bracket (I assume not?). Maybe the little baggie they give you that you replace several times a day? Do you just not use them?

My Rabbi used to say blow torch mouth but of course he's not serious. You don't really need to do anything special. Just make sure they're you know you brush your teeth which you should be doing anyways.

My kids orthodontist has a sign hanging, with a rabbi's name, that you need to rinse the rubber bands.

My son’s ortho sends a letter every year saying the only thing special to do is to get a new toothbrush. Which everyone does anyway. And he has the psak of one of our main local poskim.
