This is totally a side point, but these comments always get me wondering... Do you want to be the leader of your home?

You're probably just brainwashed by feminism. If it weren't for that darned education you got, you would be very content to make tablescapes and tricolor kugels, fulfilling Hashem's plan for you.

How do you know that’s Hashem’s plan for women? Where do you take it from?

I don’t think women who lein are doing it lishma. They’re doing it for kavod. To prove to everyone they can do it. Which is completely misguided. |
If this is what you think, I can honestly say, you are most probably not part of the community where women lein for women.
It is 100% NOT for any kavod. They do it to feel a connectuon to hashem and their judaism.

Some think they have to prove something. So for example when I see a woman wearing a kipah, I think to myself that women have so many special mitzvot only for them. When I can do those mitzvot 100% correctly then I can try to take on something. Like tefillin or leining or whatever. |
You are soooo far beyond wrong with this one.
The women I know who are leining are very educated. And do not think men are better. I really think that if this is what you think of this, you have no ideas and are not part of that world. You are beyond wrong.

Perhaps for the same reason they refuse to ask for directions when they're lost.

In my world they do.

I hate to break it to you, but many women ARE the leaders of their homes.
And I dont care what anyone says, that men are supposed to be the head of the families. In todays reality, many many women are doing that role. Some by choice and others because the husband is just not doing it.

When I was dating, it was a priority to me to marry someone who would be a partner in running the home.

I actually disagree. I think a marriage is supposed to be a partnership. And that that’s the epitome of it. If one “leads”, than automatically the other falls away. Look at the Sheba brachos- it’s all about love and friendship

I 100% agree with you. I was pointing out to the reply that not all jewish households have the man as the leader. That is a very antiquated idea. And there are so msny threads here about husbsnds that dont do anything at home, least of all, lead a household.
Many women on this site dont like this equal talk. I dont understand why. But that is what I was addressing.

Quite possible.
I don’t have an urge to do many things a man does. I’m fine doing my womanly things.

I agree.
But I also think that alot if times when women on this site complain, they exaggerate. Or change the facts to remain anonymous. Remember, this is the internet…

I'm in the yeshivish world, and I don't see this AT ALL. Can you provide an example of a man asking a woman's advice regarding spiritual matters in the yeshivish world? We ask Rabbanim and Roshei Yeshivah.

I know. I'm not asking if there is such a thing. I'm asking if you WANT to be followed by your husband or if you want to be lead by him.

Why does it have to be either of these? Why not a partnership? No following the other?

Yes, but it's impossible to be equal for everything. I was responding to a post that said: Things can be different and equal or different and unequal, but if they're different and unequal, one has to be greater and the other lesser.
If you think things are unequal there has to be a greater and lesser in the equation.
If you think everything between man and woman are equal, this question is not for you.
