I think women are supposed to drink about 9 cups of water a day. I dont drink anywhere close to that.
Im rarely thirsty.
How can I get enough water into my body?

Are you nursing? If you are, prepare a cup of water and finish it with every time you nurse.

That's a myth. If your urine is pale yellow, you are drinking enough. If it's darker, you might be ignoring your thirst cues or mistaking thirst for hunger.

Multivitamins make your pee dark though even if you are well hydrated. Eating beets or drinking beet juice can make your pee reddish.

Try drinking 1 cup first thing in the morning. Just chug it even if you're not thirsty.

Try sometime like this.. it counts in different colors. The visual might help.

I work in an office with radiator heat so it gets very dry and it forces me to drink a lot but I find its much easier when the water is very cold and I use a straw. I have a 20z cup that I usually fill up 2-3 times a day in addition to coffee and tea and whatever I drink at home.

Is it like you don't like water bottles like that? Would you drink something with like a lid and a straw? Do you want something that doesn't have the ridges of the screw top?

I got a giant 74 oz. watermelon print cup with lid and straw fm dollar tree and it makes me remember to drink every time I pass it. I usually keep it on my counter or table. In the summer I will usually nd to refill it.

From the article you linked:
“In the average person, drinking less will not necessarily compromise one’s health as each person’s exact fluid needs vary, even day-to-day.”

Op I was just like you.
I found it much easier to drink more after I bought myself a 40oz water bottle. I still don't drink enough but once I fill it up I usually end up finishing it. If I'm really good I try to finish 2 per day but that's rarely.
Every time I see the bottle I take a sip.
If you only want to drink in a cup, put a timer on your phone every hour that calls out "drink water" and do it even if you don't feel thirsty.
After a while you will be used to it.

I have the same problem. And it was a major problem, I definitely was dehydrated just not used to drinking and didn’t “feel thirsty”
I try to have water with me always, and just sip.
To train myself, I would literally set reminders to sip every half hour.
If you’re working, have a water bottle next to you. When you go in the car, take one with you. When you’re cooking, set one on the counter.

I add lemon or another type of flavor (even a bit of juice helps) or you can get those water enhancers to make it taste better.

It's not the quantity of h2o you need, it's the minerals and electrolytes. So whatever you're drinking just add some Himalayan pink salt and fresh lemon

You can start by setting a timer every 1.5 hours or so. Hopefully within a few weeks it'll become second nature.
Also coffee does not count towards daily hydration since it's a diuretic.

I also have trouble drinking. I take a disposable water bottle around with me and I consider it a good day if I get through one.
I have dehydrated myself and still struggle.
