With all this talk of rings I figured I'd add another one.
Except for my wedding rings I never have worn any other rings.
When ds was born dh bought me a ring. Whenever I wear it get a rash on the finger I wear it on and the finger next to it. Any ideas about how to fix this? I love it but always hesitate to wear it becaus for the next 2-3 days I'm so uncomfortable.
thanks.

I have a similar thing. Its a nickel allergy.
the ring I am allergic to is my engagement ring - its made of white gold, and white gold has nickel mixed in.
My wedding band, made of yellow gold, doesn't produce any allergic reactions.

some people have allergic reactions to anything less than 18k gold ... you might check up on this ...
can you put some bacitracen ointment on that finger before and after you wear it ... just enough that maybe the rash won't happen ... I used to do that with earrings ...

Me too! Only in the summer though. It's so annoying I can't wear my ring in the summer!
Thanks for your tip green, I'm going to try it!

Take it off when you wash your hands and make sure your hands are completely dry before putting it back on. I've gotten rashes when I wasn't careful.

I get an eczema-like very itchy rash under my rings if I don't dry the inside of them (the part that touches my finger) after I wash my hands.

I get it when wearing all day around the house. When wearing to a wedding, it’s ok. That is because even if you dry well, the moisture is still inside the pores and it will cause the reaction. You must be perfectly dry for at least a half hour before putting the rings back on.
