And he just arrived. With lots of perfume on himself. I have small house. He will sleep In living room couch. My entire house smell like cologne/perfume. The problem is…I am getting allergy symptoms to it. Hard to breathe, headache, anxiety, throat burning. My dh cannot smell due to covid damage. So he cannot sympathize
Shabbat is I one hour.
What should I do?
I prepared for his visit for two weeks. Gladly invited him myself.

You or DH should tell him that you're allergic to fumes & if he can please shower & not use cologne over shabbos.

I agree with poster above. You can be apologetic but say what she said and im sure both of you will have a much better shabbos

You would certainly respect any allergies that he told you about. People can be clueless about non- food allergies and I’m sure he wouldn’t want to cause any discomfort.
