I think it’s because posters feel bad for you. I’m also confused about the hugs on this site sometimes

Not quite sure why they feel bad for me but ok. Some stories seemed way worse and way more embarrassing.

You said it was really embarrassing. So we feel bad for you... Not pity, but ouch what an awful phone call to get!

Dd4 wore a yarmulke to school for a few days. Same spunky kid wore pjs a few times when it was not pajama day.
I once went to pickup one of my kids from the babysitter and the babysitter asked if dh dressed the kid that morning. When I said “yes, why do you ask?”… she said “cuz baby’s shoes were on the wrong feet”

For most part of the summer my daughter agreed to wear dresses and shorts but towards the end she decided ONLY long pants and long sleeves. Today she went to playgroup with long leggings and a sweatshirt. She looked like she was so hot, but not according to her. Also some days she’ll go wearing the same outfit two days in a row because she didn’t want to take it off. |
Glad to see that I'm not the only one 😅
Good luck to us with raising these independent, stubborn, adorable, impossible ones

My 2 yr old daughter also likes wearing long sleeve and long leggings no matter how hot. I can't quite blame her, it's pretty cold inside her basement playgroup, the a/c works really well! Even at home the inside temperature is cool. It's only outside in the hot sun that shorts are comfortable.

Mornings with my DD3 are so difficult, maybe I should just let her have her way based on the posts here.
I go off my mind trying to get her to look half decent, with her hair made and clean clothes. Sometimes I also manage to convince her to be weather appropriate.
She did go to Gan in PJ’s when DH dressed her (really cute ones though 😆) and would wear clown socks from Purim in school.

Remember that it's embarrassing for YOU, not for your kid!
I think this world would be a better place if Morahs and others allowed kids to wear their wacky clothes without comment and let parents focus their chinuch and discipline on the important stuff like remembering to say please and thank you, clean up after yourself, and FLUSH. THE. TOILET!!!

My 5 yr old gave me his schoolbag one day after school and it was so heavy. Guess what was inside? A sodden wet diaper - he got to cheider and realized he was still wearing it, took it off and hid it in his bag......
My daughter once went in a thick sweater, a purim frilly mini skirt and a pair of sandles - in mid summer.
Once she came home with her hair braided, I asked her who braided it? Morah did it. Why? because yesterday Leah came without her hair done and Morah did it for her because her mommy had a baby. I also wanted Morah to do my hair so I took out the holder and told her that you weren't feeling well today!!!!!

My little sister, the youngest of many girls, loves to wear what everyone else is wearing. Yup, she’s the teen with all the brand names. And bring the youngest, she gets what she wants.
And it started when she was three!
It was the era of The Black Skirt, when no good Jewish mother wore anything else but a Black Skirt. No other color was worn on any respectable frum young lady or woman but Black.
Little girls however, were free to wear what they pleased. Us older sisters wanted our younger sister to look more stylish than we were ever Zoche to (we grew up in hand-me-downs and hand sewn skirts and frilly dresses from Bubby when she treaded us from Macy’s… AKA Kollel life in the 90’s) and so insisted on shopping for the little princess. We bought denims, and inks, and whites, and browns and greys… Little Princess though, was having none of that. She had one tatty Black Skirt and she wore it every day. She was the only child in her nursery in Black but that didn’t deter her as she wanted to look grown up and stylish just like Mommy, Morah and all her sisters!

My 2 year old boy went to gan with fun things including:
his sister's underwear ontop of his diaper.
A headband
His 4 year old sister's shoes
What can I say, I choose my battles.
One vacation day (luckily) he insisted on wearing not 1, but 2 of his sister's nightgowns the entire day, needless to say we didn't leave the house that day.
Yes he is a boy between a bunch of girls, why can't he have nightgowns, headbands, tights, jewelry and makeup too?!

My darling 3yr old has a fear of being " freezing ", as in ,it's a million degrees outside and her majesty needs leggings and long sleeves. B"h she mostly agreed to wear shorts in the summer.
Today was a tad breezier, so she wore a jacket, and in order to protect her poor fingers from frostbite, she wore my baby's socks, one on each hand
.
Her adorable Morah exclaimed " wow! You're wearing gloves!" while looking at me.
" I wish, " said I
Please share yours, so that I can feel a bit better about my normalness levels.
A gut gebentched yur,and loads of nachas from all of them |
Well the morah could have held her tongue
Really I think there is no fashion police in daycare. Or there shouldn’t be.
