Is this a special type of velvet that is used? Does anyone know where I can buy this velvet by the yard? What is it called? Or will any velvet do? I want to be able to make something similar.

I don't like the ones on Ali (the elastic piece ends up getting stretched and dirty) I wanted a full velvet band and possible to make a triangle of fabric to tie as an underneath my tichel liner.

I want to have square scarves made into pretieds (with a velvet sewn in) (ie. have a seamstress copy a pretied I already have)-where can I buy that type of no slip velvet and cut it to size?

Where do you live?
I think Stitch and sow in Lakewood sells that type of Velvet-I know that they sell lots of different types of velvet.
