This is a no fail recipe....
5-6 potatoes
4 eggs
1/2 cup seltzer (warm)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup oil
bake till top is really golden. (about 2 hrs. on 375)
The best is if you do the potatoes by hand not with a machine.

You may not believe, but try this. It's a secret tip that'll give you the potato kugel you've always dreamed of, and it really works! Use coarse salt. That's it. Good luck.

Ladies, when you make potato kugel, no matter what recipe you use, here's an excellent tip: USE COARSE SALT!!!
It makes a huge difference. If I ever forget to do it, everyone immediately asks what's wrong with the kugel.

BTW, a tip from a well-known caterer:
To prevent kugel from getting soggy when reheating, poke holes in the foil covering it...this allows the steam to escape without drying out the kugel too much
