My son brought home a goldfish from camp. What can I feed it that I would have at home? I don't really want to go out and buy special fish food.

You can give vegetables, fruits, insects, worms, shrimp, aquatic plants, and algae as alternative foods because they are safe for your goldfish. Avoid feeding cheese, rice, bread, crackers, and high-fat foods to your goldfish. Don't give the food that is specified for other fish to your goldfish.
