Aha so you've not even experienced a full blow out. It's something else let me tell you!!
Now you know why he's my last baby
He was actually on a special formula which made him do this often, and I really struggled with it! To the neck every time.

Oh, and I'm sorry; if you've never experienced the up-to-the-neck variety then you literally have no right to grumble
I mean there are babes in Africa who lose their lives by drowning in their blowout nappies

Yea I am thinking about moving up a size. Or at least putting a larger diaper over the regular one at night. Is that crazy? |
I do that overnight with all my kids!
Also, you can definitely do laundry if you need it, especially for kids. It's a minhag not halacha. Def ask your lor if you feel the need.

Which one—larger size or larger size over current size?

This is exactly what our sages meant when they said that we must take the mundane and sanctify it.
You are a true yiddishe tochter; blowouts and all
Your seminary teachers would be so proud if they could see you now.

Second option, or even just two same size.

OP, have you considered attending diaper mediation sessions? I know a really good mediator. Things don't have to reach the level of hate, that's not healthy. A few good sessions will put the two of you in a more peaceful and friendly place.

Mommies! The diapers are all going on the mitzvah side of the scale. The more poop the more it will weigh!!

By the way, it has recently come to my attention that some people still don't know this: the stretchy necks or snap closures on modern day baby shirts and onesies (bodysuits) are not just to help them fit over the head easily. They also make it possible to pull the garment down to remove in case of disaster. |
You're kidding!!
I should've known this after having a few diaper poopers! But I didn't...
The terror of pulling that soiled onesie over my babies heads
And that could've all been avoided!
Don't wanna jinx myself now and have my baby make a blowout!
So I hope your tip remains unused.

I think we need to create a support group called Blowouts Anonymous where we can all share the trials of having to deal with disastrous diaper blowouts in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. Op you can be the moderator.

Dear Imamothers, not such a long time ago there were no diapers as we know them today. Everyone had only cloth diapers
Not to mention the invention of bleach and then washing machine...
