I'm training my 2 1/2 year old for the past week and she hasn't pished on the floor in 4 days but still has never done a number 2 in the potty. She always soils her panty. Any suggestions please. I'm getting ready to go to the country.

If you get any answers, let me know. DS is 3.5, been trained since last August & has only had a BM in the toilet a handful of times. His body is trained to wait until night time & he does it in his diaper. I can't train him at night because he'll do it in his pj's.

I also had this problem - I let the kids go in their diaper while sitting on the toilet. The "coziness" they're used to, but in the correct location and sitting position. I think this "bridge" to the real thing really helped.

I hope that this little note will help you.

as a mother of several kids I can tell you that this problem is not uncommon.

Speak to your pediatrician, about putting a suppository in and then sit child on potty. The staining is from being constipated and children who hold it in when training do get constipated.
Once child will go a few times in potty fear will vanish

I had this problem for a long time where my daughter just asked for her diaper to do it in after a while. I went to the pediatrician and he told me to make srue they have a potty where they can put their feet on the floor it makes them feel more secure and to try and get them to do it in their diaper but while on the potty, after they have done that to line the potty with a diaper but so its not on them and slowly take that away till they do it on the potty and then progress to the toilet. I bribed my daughter in the end with cheers, stickers chocolate and everything and one day after me not pressuring her I think its very important not to pressure them otherwise it becomes a battle which they know they can control we went to friends and all the kids went to the toilet together and my daugther did it on the potty there and since then bh she has done it in the toilet. good luck its a real pain
