Curious what the common practice is - are robes pajamas or are they only for lounging and they change into pajamas when going to bed?

Mostly yes. I try to change them into pjs but they usually fall asleep at dinner and I don’t want to wake them.

I make sure to get my little ones comfy robes so that they can sleep in them Friday nights and generally change them into a dress, outfit in the morning.

My little one's have shabbos pajamas/robes that they sleep in. The older ones don't sleep in their robes, it's not really comfortable for sleeping.

I do sometimes . And if I do , my daughter likes to copy. But it’s not meant to sleep in. We switch into clothes Shabbos day.

my little ones yes. the older can sometimes fall asleep with it and I dont make them take it off.
Thats the point for it to be comfy enough so they can sleep in it too.

Depends on the fabric. I let my 6 year old sleep in cotton robes only

Ew, no. They never did, at any age, velour or cotton. Would you sleep in clothes?
