Dd went to a camp the last 3 years and then this year mid December they let us know they are not opening. And all other camps we applies to told us we applied too late. How is this fair. Why isn't the camp that cancelled offering to help place these girls. Just venting

Ugh. That's very frustrating and disappointing. I'm sorry that happened to you and your daughter. Sad

I had a similar situation 3 years ago with my son.

But at the risk of sounding like a rebbetzin or seminary teacher, try to keep in mind that Hashem has a plan for your daughter! Hopefully you will look back in a year from now and see how well it turned out.

Can I ask what camp was it that closed because there are a couple of newer camps that may still have some openings to apply to.

Have you tried a new camp called Levavi? It is supposed to be yeshivish/Bais yaakov. Opening this year and it sounds like it will be good.

I agree they eere wrong for not giving more advance notice.

But how are they supposed to help place the girls.
Who said they have pull in other camps.

Everyone knew they weren't opening.
Daughter was there the last 2 summers .

After the 2nd half situation of last year we were told they would buy a camp if they reopen..

If it's full then it doesn't help to call and if it's not full why don't you apply? I also don't see why your daughter deserves a spot in another camp before another new camper. It's a hard situation but I don't feel they owed you anything.

The girls that went last year knew in my experience as well. I have 2 nieces + know many others that sent there. They didn’t have a property.
