when browning chopped meat use a potato masher instead of a spoon; no more lumps. works great for a large package (5lb.)

Meat sauce - fry onions and garlic, add tomato sauce and meat
You can also throw in peppers and mushrooms if your gang likes them
I chop carrots and zucchini medium fine (in the food processor) and saute them first, then do the onions, etc. That way I know theyve gotten veggies for this meal. They know the veggies are there, but the texture is so similar to the meat that they dont mind.
Call it Spaghetti Bolognaise for your dh
Then theres also meatloaf. Thats more my mother's type of thing.
Any other chopped meat ideas?

I believe it comes from the city Hamburg. Like hot dogs are named after Frankfurt, where they supposedly were first made.

Pizza - thanks for the veggie tip. My husband just recommended the same thing yesterday cause I have one kid who will not put a vegetable or fruit in her mouth!

DH also recoils at the word "hamburger" no matter how many times I tell him it's from "Hamburg." In his family, they were just called "burgers."
