Actually, what is the difference between aguda midwest, maarava, and MTM, and how do they compare to Maayan?

Thank you!

Mayan is much more modern than any of the others. Look at their website. Not a typical BY camp.

I know of (yeshivish OOT) sisters and classmates who went to MTM and Maarava. Both are Bais Yaakov type. They sounded pretty similar to me.

I think agudah Midwest MIGHT be a little more OOT (less in-town yeshivish style) than MTM and Maarava.

Agudah Midwest and Maarava are both Agudah camps. I’m not sure what the differences are supposed to be, but they are both operated by the Agudah based in Chicago. Midwest is in Western Michigan and Maarava is in Indiana I believe.

It's changed. There are a LOT of Lakewood girls in maarava now.

MTM is similar demographics I believe.

Yes a lot of Lakewood girls go to maarava. From the girls I know maarava crowd seems more yeshivish than Midwest but both frum BY type.

Funny how some will say it's OOT, some will say not. It depends on one's perspective and what one's comparing it to.
My understanding is that Agudah Midwest has a more OOT feel than Maarava.
There probably is a lot of overlap though.

Odds are OOTers are going to be outnumbered wherever they go.

I know two different families in Lakewood who send their DD's to MTM. One family is super-yeshivish in-towny, and one is very JPF, and somewhat OOT.

I live in Chicago, I have friends and neighbors who sent girls to all three camps. Maayan is mostly girls from the centrist school here and a few from bais yaakov.

AMW is the girls from the left to center parts of bais yaakov and maarava is the more yeshivish girls.

Maarava and MTM today are pretty intowny and Yeshivish. Especially MTM.
Aguda is way more OOT.

My daughter attended both AMW and Maarava last summer and really loved both of them. It was her experience that Maarava is more yeshivish and more "with it" in terms of brand and fashion although as an out of towner she fit in well and made good friends there. It was not too cliquey or in-towny for her (which was my worry). A good half or almost half of her Maarava bunk was from Lakewood but her AMW bunk was more diverse.

Would you say these camps are more "campy and outdoorsy?"

I disagree, the only not bais yaakov thing about Maayan is no knee socks required. Otherwise everything else about them is a standard bais yaakov camp. And the staff is pretty right wing bais yaakov.
Aguda Midwest is definitely more yeshivish, but there is a lot of overlap.

I’d guess Midwest. Maarava gets a lot of in towners.
