I just want to add, that on the niddatude thread, some complained that the thread might be insensitive to those who are truly suffering as a result of niddah-related issues. As Jews, we do need to be sensitive to those around us, it's true. But on the other hand, I really feel that our (sometimes dark) sense of humor is part of what has kept us around so long. So I think a good, clean chuckle, which is not taking direct aim at anyone in particular, is a positive thing and should be encouraged. OP's post also has a deeper spiritual element, in that it brings home the Purim story to our days and times, and sort of makes it more real, not just some childhood fable. It did really happen and we have much to be grateful for to Hashem for that.

You remember that movie "Fievel: An American Tail"?

So maybe this should be titled "Vashti: A Persian Tail"! Very Happy

This is amazing, you are so talented!
It really brings the story to life. Can you do this for other historical figures?

Omg! This is brilliant! I love it! LOL If I were to ever publish this, that's what I would title it.
And yes, I loved the Feivel series. (I liked the first one better than the second one.)

Op, I just wanted to say that I was very impressed with your apology/admitting you may have been wrong. I don't believe you were, but it's not often you see someone own up to possibly being insensitive like that.

Thank you..

I'm not sure. I never tried before. As I said, this just popped into my head when I was thinking about Achashveirosh and Vashti's shalom bayis problems. The argument was really so dumb and it just blew up.

I think we can all relate to that. And definitely many of the stories here on Imamother follow a similar pattern.

Anyway, right now, I have to figure out a way to sneak out of this bathroom without my husband finding me...I have an appointment with the dermatologist for this rash on my face. Wish me luck!

Ps. I'm just throwing this in here in case anyone finds this interesting.

I had this story happen specifically on Shabbos because I learned that the debacle with Vashti happened on Shabbos. She was punished on Shabbos because she forced the Jewish girls to desecrate Shabbos. She didn't want the BH to be rebuilt, so she figured that if she can get the Jews to sin, then Hashem won't allow them to rebuild the BH. She concentrated her efforts on the Jewish girls in her own palace, forcing them to work on Shabbos.
