Is there any way to regularly interact with animals without being the owner and primary caretaker (other than adopting the pet and hiring a full time nanny for it)?

Play with your neighbor’s pet, find a pet store that lets you play with them, take lessons like horse riding, pet sit for people going away

lol. Cleaning up after them is the exact reason why I don’t have them . Now my friend got a kitten, so that’s perfect for me. I play with him and then go home.

I’ve done this too! Taking a break now because of some health things that have come up. But I did it for years, got to see and pet and play with so many kitties (I volunteer for a cat rescue) and know that I was making a difference by helping maintain their living environment while they were up for adoption.

Anon because a lot of people know this about me IRL.
