Hmm...I could try that, but I hate experimenting when I don't really know what the end product is supposed to taste like.

thanx sounds yummmy! I love these ideas, wanna send me over some? For the bagel and calzone dough, do you do it by hand or by machine? Do you have any other ideas?
Where's the calzone recipe from?
Do you have a milchige oven or toaster oven?

lol, I gotta think about lunch, dh comes home and expects FOOD!
I only have a milchig toaster/convection oven which works pretty well for most things (not cakes...) I made the pizza dough by hand. I think it's more of a pain to take out the mixer and clean it than just get a little exercise kneading by hand.
here's the recipe I used:
BetterBaking.Com Classic Pizza Dough
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon semolina or cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 - 3 cups bread flour
Olive oil for pizza pans
Grease three 9 inch pizza pans with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Set aside.
For the dough, in the bowl of an electric mixer, hand whisk the water and yeast and let stand 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the sugar, salt, oil semolina, all-purpose flour and 2 cups of bread flour and mix to make a soft mass. Knead with the dough hook on the slowest speed of the mixer, dusting in additional flour as required to form a soft, elastic dough, about 5 to 8 minutes. Form dough into a ball and place in a lightly greased bowl. Insert bowl into a large plastic bag and let rise until almost doubled, about 30 to 45 minutes.
Gently deflate the dough, reinsert into plastic bag, and allow to rest an additional 15 minutes.
Gently deflate the dough. Press or roll out dough to fit prepared pizza pans.
If dough resists or otherwise retracts, let it rest for a few minutes, then gently coax it to fit pan. Drizzle a little bit of olive oil on top of dough. Spread on tomato sauce and topping of your choice
Preheat oven to 425 F. Bake 15 minutes, and then reduce heat to 400 F. Bake another 15 - 20 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly brown.
Makes three 9 inch pizzas

thanx again....
I also don't like the mixer.... But I don't think I have the manpower to make a good smooth dough.
Are you very quick in the kitchen? 'Cuz it takes me so very long to make everything and then clean up...don't know....
I've tried to make calzones, but they just didn't bake properly in the toaster oven. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I am not very quick either, the first time I make something it takes me a long time. and I am a perfectionist so I chop onions just so... very annoying. my mother used to make fun of how long things take me. oh well. but I find that once I know what I am supposed to do in the recipe it goes much faster. I only do basic clean-up after cooking/baking and then do major cleaning of the kitchen (like really scrubbing the counters) once a week. use your mixer, it makes it much easier and faster.
