so um, I took uncooked spaghetti, laid about half of it on the bottom of the pan, put a bit of water, put the ground meat mixture on top of that, then the rest of the spaghetti (still uncooked) and put some more water on top of that and covered it and put it in the oven. so two questions.
first, will it taste normal? will the spaghetti cook ok? is there such a thing as the thing that I did?
and second, how long does it need in the oven? this question is important, please answer if you have any idea. thanks.

I;ve never tried uncooked spaghetti but I have used the No-boil lasagna noodles that is intended not to be cooked beforehand and I use marinara sauce on the bottom of pan and again on top layer (with ground beef that's been browned with marina sauce and noodles layered in between) baked covered for 50 min. and uncovered 10 minutes more.

I know some ppl use regular unboiled lasagne noodles and it works fine for them bjut I haven't had luck.
make sure you have a lot of liquid and a long enough cooking time, for sure.

I've never done it with uncooked lasagna noodles either, but if they're the "no-boil" ones, then it should be fine, although it might need at leas an hour in the oven. make sure it's covered tightly, otherwise the meat will dry out.

My mother has been making lasagne from uncooked noodles for 40 years. The No-boil noodles are a gimmick to get people to spend more money on the same noodles.
I never add extra water but I do use tons of tomato sauce. For meat lasagne:
1 cup tomato sauce
layer uncooked noodles
1 cup sauce
layer meat
layer sauteed veggies
layer noodles
repeat, sauce, meat, veggies, noodles
cover with 1 more cup sauce
cover tightly and bake.

thanks justanothermother, I will do that next time.
for now, it just came out of the oven and is fine very yummy but some noodles on the bottom of the pan is sticking to the pan cuz I guess it needs that 1st initial layer from just...'s recipe.
thanks all for your help.
