This site has a lot and lots and lots of posts about chasidim. No. They don’t have horns. They don’t do it with a hole in the sheet either.

Don’t worry I’m a proud chassidka myself. Just curious to see the poll.

Just one thing...whenever this topic comes up, Lubavitch considers themselves chassidish. But they’re not who the poll is referring to...
No offense to anyone Can't Believe It

Is Chabad considered chassidish in your poll?

One societal observation; seems like most people stuck to the derech they were raised in

I’m Lubavitch and do not consider myself chassidesh and neither does anyone ik.

In Chabad there’s the concept of being chassidesh (not chaseeedish) which basically means following what the rebbe says for example learning chitas.

If your paradigm is chassidish vs. not. Smile

I grew up Brooklyn yeshivish in a BT family, and today I'm Sephardic Torani. So what does that make me?

Not chassidish, apparently. LOL

------
What I do like about this poll is that it does show us how many chassidim are on this site. Very few chassidish posters use their username, so I had no idea. I'll be looking at amothers very differently now.

Why do you think anyone would think anything like that?
Persecution complex much?

What is that supposed to mean?
And why would it not be offensive?

Chabbad is a chassidus but it's in a category on it's own, nothing compared to other chassidish people. Lifestyle is so different even if both follow rebbes.

I wasn't one who made the statement.

This thread got inspired from reading memories of satmar or chassidish camps so OP wanted to figure out, how many of such type are on this site.

That's why chabbad shouldn't get offended.

Many chassidish do go under their usernames even if they are not advertising that they are chassidish. If you would peek into Chassidish private forums you would be shocked how many user names got entrance there, which I would never guess, that they are chassidish

Why not?
I consider Chassidish anyone who follows one Rebbe whatever he says, and also has a lot of chumras Smile
Since you have the most chumras Pesach time, I think you qualify.

My family has chasiddish minhagim (davening sfard, chumras, etc.) but since we have no rebbe, just a 'regular' rav that changes if we move, I voted nonchassidish.

How would I know? I wouldn't. But based off of statistical probabilities, it looks like any amother here has a 50-50 chance of being chassidish, versus all the other brands of frumkeit.

It's just another factor I'll consider when I'm analyzing anonymous posts.

And I'm the better for knowing you, so cheers. Smile

A significant portion of this site is Chassidish but that may be surprising to non Chassidish posters who wouldn't pick up on certain nuance in the responses.
